Management
More than six years of experience in managing country programs in Europe, Africa and South Asia and the Carribean, with overall responsibility over the entire country programs, from HR, administration and logistics to the planning , implementation and evaluation of programs. It involved negotiating, and coordination with authorities, local officials as well as UN and other stakeholders. Required a high degree of flexibility, innovative thinking and perseverence but also skils in diplomacy, strategic thinking, communication and consensus building.
Project engineering
Six years experience in Project and Inspection engineering, accumulated while working for commercial diving and oil service companies in the North Sea and the Nigerian oil fields.  During this time, working under extreme conditions; physical and mental stability was a main requirement to get the jobs done.
The main achievements during this time were that all projects have been completed within set time frame and innovative reporting methods were developed, to the full satisfaction of clients.
Logistics
Seven years experience in logistics, in Africa, Asia and Europe, ranging from field logistics in Sierra Leone, Chechnya and Zaïre (now Democratic Republic of Congo) to logistics manager in Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and Chad. Working in insecure and dangerous environments, setting up and maintaining logistics systems, ranging from supply and distribution networks, fleet management to construction project management and vaccination campaigns. But also managing the communication network and IT systems.
Other
Nine months technical adviser to the ministry of marine resource in an African country to construct fishing jetties in the Red Sea, while setting up a commercial diving unit within the ministry.
Several exploratory missions for international organizations in Europe, Africa and Asia.
Market survey for a European pump manufacturer to determine the feasibility to enter the Sri Lanka market.
Short term projects for international organisations on funding proposals , recovery strategies and project design & management in Sri Lanka, Haiti and Liberia.
